Quick answer: a Pakistani passport photo is 35 × 45 mm on a white background. For the online passport upload it must be 350 × 467 pixels, JPEG, under 3 MB. A visa photo is 35 × 45 mm with the face filling about 70–80% of the frame, maximum 350 KB.
The sizes that matter
- Print (agencies, embassies, paper forms): 35 × 45 mm, white background
- Online passport upload: 350 × 467 px, JPEG, white background, up to 3 MB
- Visa photo: 35 × 45 mm, face filling about 70–80%, up to 350 KB
- CNIC / NICOP / POC: captured live in the app or at the counter
Do not mix the limits — 350 KB is the visa limit, 3 MB is the passport portal limit, and neither of them is a print size.
Why photos get rejected
- The background is a painted wall or curtain, not pure white
- The head is too small, or cropped at the top
- Glasses glare, or a shadow falls behind the head
- The picture is a screenshot, or an upscaled small image
- The file is bigger than the portal allows
Fix it free, in your browser
- Stand 1–1.5 metres from a plain white wall, phone at eye level, daylight on your face, no flash.
- Remove the background and set it to white with the free tool below.
- On the same page open the ID studio, choose the passport size, and press “Use photo from the tool above”.
- Zoom and move until the head fills the frame with a small margin above the hair, then download the PNG.
